 🚀🇮🇳 India’s New Space Technology: ISRO Takes Another Major Step Forward


India’s space programme is entering a new era of advanced technology, faster launches and greater self-reliance.


ISRO has successfully tested an improved version of the first-stage solid booster (SS1) of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) at Sriharikota.


🇮🇳 The upgraded technology includes:

• Improved propellant burn rate

• Optimised thermal protection

• Improved nozzle technology

• Reduced motor mass

• Production-friendly design


According to ISRO, the upgraded SS1 could increase SSLV’s payload capability to Low Earth Orbit by around 100 kg.


This is important because SSLV is designed for quick, flexible and on-demand launches of small satellites. Technology transfer to Indian industry is also underway, opening new opportunities for India’s growing private space sector.


At the same time, Indian space scientists are looking towards AI/ML, quantum technology, advanced radar systems and inter-satellite communication for the next generation of satellites and space missions.
